Cox’s Stack over a million bricks were used in its construction at a cost of £6000 a tidy sum in 1856. The smoke from over 50 furnaces traveled underground and out 282 feet above the Lochee area making it a bit easier for the locals to breathe.

  1. Who knew!!! My grannie worked there and a few generations of mine lived in Lochee (it wasn’t like it is now)…Great information.
